Below is a list of books that you can read with your child at home to go along with some of the lessons that we will be learning about in class:

  1. The Very Hungry Caterpillar by: Eric Carle. This book goes along great with our unit on the life cycle of a butterfly and incorporates simple math. We will be making an edible caterpillar in class, so I know your child would love to read this book with you.
  2. A Rainbow of my Own by: Don Freeman. This book is great for introducing colors. We will be reading this book in class to go along with our color unit and then make rainbows out of different colored tissue paper.
  3.  Oh Say Can You Say What's The Weather Today? by:Tish Rabe. This is a great book to introduce weather concepts and terms to your child with simple rhymes. We will be using this book to introduce our weather unit.
  4. Dora's Shape Adventure by: Susan Hood. We will be using this book in class to test our knowledge about shapes. The children will put together their own version of the book and be able to recognize all of the colors and shapes.
